This type of appointment is not approved to work more than 999 hours per year for all positions combined. Should incumbents work more than a total of 999 hours in a year the appointment may not continue beyond one year of service.

Accountabilities:
Remote Part-Time Readers for the Colgate Office of Admission will provide critical support in
the holistic assessment of Early and Regular Decision first-year applicants to the University.
They will be asked to conduct a number of application-review tasks, which will primarily
include computing and gathering quantitative data on applicants as well as conducting a holistic
applicant review alongside a reading partner. Thorough training on all elements of Colgate's
application review process will be conducted upon hire. Remote Part-Time Readers must be
comfortable evaluating applicants in accordance with Colgate's mission as outlined in the Third-
Century Plan and the standards of a highly selective liberal arts institution. In order to ensure
efficient and high quality application review, the ability to work accurately at a fast pace and to
provide comprehensive and relevant summary comments is essential.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
- As remote employees, candidates must have their own computer and a stable internet connection.
- A Bachelors degree is required, along with at least one year of experience with application review.
- Competitive candidates will have strong math skills in addition to organizational and time management skills.
- Collaborative work experience and the ability to work with confidential information are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Appreciation of the liberal arts philosophy and/or previous volunteer or employment experience in the liberal arts will be considered a plus.
- Knowledge of non-U.S. educational systems and curriculums with experience reviewing international credentials is recommended.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required.

Compensation is $25/hr
Work Schedule:
Must be available for 20-25 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm (EST) and occasional weekend assignments from mid-October through March 31.
