Hamilton - Mechanic [New Zealand]

We have dedicated teams of Designers, Field Technicians and Civil works crews. We use the latest technology and high-quality machinery to provide civil, utilities and underground services.

    The role:
    We are currently seeking a Mechanic to join our Fleet and Facilities Team. In this role you will complete repairs, maintenance, and general servicing across our varied fleet of small portable plant, Light road vehicles, Heavy road vehicles and mobile plant such as diggers and directional drills. As our Mechanic you will also conduct all pre-COF/WOF inspections as well as minor repairs and maintenance activities such as brake pad replacement, belt replacements, water pump replacement. Key to this role is being a jack of all trades and a master of some.

    The key objectives for this role are to:
    • Completing maintenance and repairs on all fleet vehicles and plant to a high standard
    • Completing base vehicle/plant servicing (Oil changes etc) within the time provided
    • Completing pre-COF/WOF inspections within allocated timeframes
    • Completing all relevant paperwork/computer work to a high standard
    • Identifying potential defects and prioritising their repairs
    • Being an active team member and contributing to ensuring our workshop is high performing
    • Clear communication with your teammates and our Fleet and Facilities Co-ordinator

    To be successful in this role you will have:
    • Be a trade qualified mechanic (or well on way to completing apprenticeship)
    • Previous experience repairing, servicing variety of equipment including; trucks, vans, trailers and small plant
    • Competent in completing COF and WOF's pre checks
    • Good diagnostics skills
    • Full drivers licence, Class 4 and WTR endorsements desired but not essential
    • Self-motivation and strong work ethic
    • Commitment to safety and quality in the workplace
