As a Senior Plant Engineer or Manager, the individual plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plant, contributing to environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

The role of a Senior Plant Engineer or Manager in a Waste Water Treatment company involves overseeing the operations and maintenance of the treatment plant to ensure efficient and effective functioning. Here are the key responsibilities associated with this role:

  • Plant Operations Oversight:

    • Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring compliance with operational protocols, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
    • Monitor the treatment process to ensure efficient removal of contaminants and adherence to quality standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Reliability:

    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of process equipment, including pumps, motors, blowers, mixers, and control systems.
    • Schedule and oversee maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment upgrades to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
  • Process Optimization:

    • Continuously evaluate the treatment process to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement.
    • Collaborate with process engineers and operational staff to implement process modifications and enhancements.
  • Staff Supervision and Training:

    • Lead and manage a team of operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
    • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
    • Ensure that plant operations comply with environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Budgeting and Resource Management:

    • Develop and manage budgets for plant operations, maintenance, and capital projects.
    • Allocate resources efficiently to meet operational needs and achieve cost targets.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Analyze operational data, such as flow rates, chemical dosages, and equipment performance, to identify trends and issues.
    • Prepare regular reports on plant performance, maintenance activities, and key performance indicators for management.
  • Emergency Response and Incident Management:

    • Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential plant failures, equipment breakdowns, and other critical incidents.
    • Lead the response efforts during emergencies to minimize the impact on plant operations and the environment.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Drive initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve overall performance.
    • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement innovative solutions.
  • Regulatory Liaison:

    • Interact with regulatory authorities, environmental agencies, and auditors to ensure compliance with permits and regulations.
    • Provide necessary documentation and information during regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Project Management:

    • Manage capital projects related to plant upgrades, expansions, or equipment replacements.

  • Stakeholder Communication:

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management in wastewater treatment works or related fields.
  • Have a Professional Engineering License - Environmental Engineering.
  • Have H&S Certificate - Confined Space and Safety Officer Technical level.
  • Good leadership and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in English (Writing, Listening, and Speaking).
  • Able to work under pressure and in teams.
